...opening up at Hotel Cafe tonight is Tiffany Randol, who we caught at one of Alex & Sam's Tangier shows. The front woman of NYC based glam rock band, Valeze, has now gone solo singer/songwriter style, making Los Angeles her second home, and is bringing out a new sound that is more folk-acoustic-pop than anything. The LA newbie can belt out her lyrics like a pro and her body and hips swing as if the music has seduced her in some kind of trance.

"Kiss Me, Kiss Me", the self produced debut solo E.P. from Brooklyn based Tiffany Randol (lead singer of the glam rock outfit, Valez) composed an upbeat collection of perfectly orchestrated pop gems. The title track starts off the E.P. with high promises of jazzy soul filled vocals placed precisely on playful instrumental pieces. Peaking right in the middle with, "Half a Second" leaving remembrance of a bolder Feist mixed with the sweetness of the Cardigans. Still, finishing off strong with, "All I Wanna Do is Love" brings in breezy beach like feel while twisting half way through to a hard rock edge making it the album's most diverse song. A first time production like this can only lead to high hopes and budding interest in Ms. Randol's future. - Amandalyn Ferri

In this effort, the spunky redhead explores all sides of love from a spiritual perspective, fusing soulful songwriting with pop-driven vocal arrangements. Joined by an odd ball cast including Mikki James (Thin Lizard Dawn), Fred Armisen (SNL), Greg McMullen (Chris Whitley), and Erin Hill (Kanye West), Randol warbles and vamps like Tammy Wynette hanging with Neko Case. We're talking one soulful country crank delivery with tunes that almost recall Tracey Nelson (kids, keep looking it up).

She's gorgeous, she's R&B, she's got huge feet, and Tiffany Randol is top of our pops.

During her sold out show last night at Mo Pitkins, singer songwriter Tiffany Randol introduced a packed audience to songs from her upcoming album, Sammasati. The spunky redhead took the stage of the lower east side lounge at 9 pm, and opened with her powerful piano-based tune, "Kiss Me, Kiss Me."

Randol bounced around from a grand piano, an acoustic guitar, a decade-old synthesizer and a pair of spoons (which were generously lent to her by a waitress) as she passionately performed her diverse, upbeat set. Her unique blend of sweet and soulful vocals was clearly displayed as she gently flowed through her ten songs. Randol got the crowd involved during her chipper ho-down tune, "One 4 Me," when she asked them to drum along to the beat by banging beer bottles together - - luckily, there was plenty of beer flowing throughout the night. Her final song, "Half a Second," overflowed with powerful soul and rhythm melodies that filled the room with tickling goosebumps.
